The "National Para Athletics Championship" was held on June 28 and 29, 2022 at Sugathadasa Stadium, Colombo. The number of contestants who competed from our center for that championship representing "SERRIC" sports club is 06.

In that championship, our children emerged victorious by winning one gold medal, one silver medal and three bronze medals. Kalana Buddhima Gunathilaka won the gold medal in the 100m race event for children with Down syndrome under 18 years and Chamath Tishan Piyaratne won the bronze medal.

In the under-18 Downsyndrome 200m event, Yasas Dasanta won the silver medal and Myuran Prabhaswara won the bronze medal. Also, Janith Jeevantha managed to win the bronze medal in the over 18-year-old Downsyndrome 200m race event. Nalamudu Yasindu won 4th place in the under-18 , shot-put and Janith Jeevantha won the fifth place in the over-18 shot-put.

Mrs Sonia Kottegoda, The Chief supervising officer, Brig MAR Gunasekara RSP and the staff of Senehasa Education Centre extend their warm congratulations to our excellent competitors who displayed their skills in the 2022 Para Athletics Games, and earnestly wish that may they will be able to achieve more victories in the future by demonstrating their sports skills.

Also, we would like to express our sincere thanks to the sports instructors, teaching staff and assistant teachers who trained the children as well as the parents of the children of "SERRIC" sports club.
