The Academic Staff of Senehasa Education Centre had the privilege of attending a highly informative training program on January 2nd, 2024, led by Mrs. L. Abeygunawardane, a retired Derector Nursing Medical Services in Ministry of Health. Mrs. Abeygunawardane was the Chief Special Grade Nursing Officer at the Teaching Hospital – Mahamodara and the National Hospital – Colombo. She holds a MSc Degree in Nursing from the University of Technology - Australia, and highly proficient in Nursing Training and Midwife Training. Also Mrs. Abeygunawardane is one of most experienced persons in the nursing field who has more than 40 years of experience. This session was held at the Senehasa auditorium and proved to be of immense value in enhancing essential communication and instructional competencies required by teachers and care givers in their interactions with Special Needs Children. The lecture also explored into effective strategies to enhance these skills, offering practical advice for professional development.
